Re: [Rock Painting] Re: KIM - Posted rock pictures in 2b newest rocks

Good idea to print out d subjects u wanna paint...U would hav a  complete book when you ar done with all d subjects....hehehehe.

The wash u mentioned is just a basecoat...much like using watercolour.....it is applied in layers n gradually enhanced. The basecolour is always closest to the natural colour of the subject.

In order to paint realistic animals... i always basecoat my rocks WHITE..n progress from there by practising on my shades and highlights so it has form. This is what makes my animals look alive...

another tip sweety....take a photo of ur completed rock before varnishing....that way it wont glare.

If  however u need to use d flash in the camera...get a piece of tissue paper n cover the flash lens...that way d glare in ur rocks will lessen if u need to take photo indoors.

i would love to see more of your rock masterpieces....heheheheh...n i only use 4 brushes to paint...

broad flat 10

I love your book!  I have to get my printer fixed now so I can print parts off to work on my projects since I don't work near the computer.  Hailey "fixed" the printer.  I still have to figure out the wash.  But there are alot of techniques in there that are so helpful!  I hope to show you improvement on my work very soon.  And get more than the 3 brushes I use right  now.
