[Rock Painting] Re: Thanks for the help!

Sue,

This may help:

Where to Post Photos

Our membership is rather large and so we do not allow private albums.

You can upload photos to 2A Newest Photos, 2B Newest Photos, or 2C Newest Photos. There is also a Challenge album to use if you enter one of the monthly challenges. Take a look in our calendar for information on the challenge.

Also available for you to upload pictures are the "In Progress & Critique This" album you can use to show your work in progress or if you need help.

We are interested in other types of art, such as canvas painting, decoupage, decorative painted wooden pieces, etc. By the way, concrete stepping stones and edger's that you've painted in a decorative manner can be put into 2A, 2B, or 2C.

We also have an album called This & That where you can share photos you thing other members might be interested.

You were right about red requiring more coverage because that's the color I was having problems with as I painted an American flag on the paver. When I take a picture of my first project, is it OK if I put it in the Pavers album (it's not a big paver just a brick paver) or should I start an album of my own? Since I'm new around here I'm not sure what the right thing to do is and I'll have to figure out how to do it as I don't want to make any mistakes. Well, thanks again and Happy Monday! Sue

> Sorry you're having such a tough time with this project. What is the type of primer that you're using? I'm thinking if it's oil based you might have a problem. I understand having trouble with the color coverage......still seeing the dark rock color showing through if you didn't prime.....but I don't understand why you would have to do five coats over a white base coat. To my knowledege Patio paints ARE acrylic paints. That's just the particular product line from the DecoArt brand. I always have the hardest trouble with coverage of yellow, red or orange.
