Just add textile medium to your acrylic paint & heat set by ironing your item the next day with a brown paper sack covering the design. I used to do quite a bit of fabric painting & I think I mixed 1/2 paint & 1/2 textile medium (maybe not quite that much textile medium) but can't be sure. It probably tells you on the bottle. The items I painted were not real stiff & stood up to many washings for many years. The sweatshirts I painted for my mother even went through the laundry at the nursing home & still looked good. Textile medium can be bought wherever craft paint is sold & is inexpensive.

As most of you know I am painting some tote bags for the ladies at
church.
I am using my regular acrylics with a little sealer mixed in, and they
are turning out pretty good, but stiff.
I want to paint a few articles of clothing, and would like the design
to be softer, and washable.
Pebeo was suggested, but it is quite pricey, and has to be set with
heat.
Any suggestions as to what brand might work or if there is something to
mix with regular acrylic paint that would make is softer, and washable.
