I've had the problem of lumpy paint, too, and no amount
of shaking the bottle would help. Last Christmas my son and DIL gave me
an electric "Bliss Tole Paint Shaker" that really does the trick.
However, tho it is small, it can't just be set on your painting table,
it has to be tightly clamped down on a stable surface. It has solved
the problem of those paint lumps for me. They're not cheap, but worth
it, I think. Actually I use it quite often (Steven installed it where I
could easily reach it as I paint) for a quick shake of a bottle of paint
just to be sure.
