[Rock Painting] Re: Question to ALL ?

Hi I used the marine varnish for awhile when I first started but if the
rocks were out even covered in winter the varnish needed to be
redone...The paint would peel and crack off in places too. My brother
brought down a rock I did that was at sister's at her summer place and
she left it outside....what a mess. You couldn't tell what it was. Also
it was like an amber colour.. I redid it and brother promised to take
it in for winter and it still looks good now for 3 yrs but this time
the paint was exterior latex paint and I mixed the colours into the
white. No Varnish... but some say you can mix the varnish into the
paint too.

They did a test in Shopping Bags TV show and the exterior latex doesn't
shrink and peel in time like the oil based for houses. Benjamin Moore
won out of the 4 paints. (Grafitti artists must have known that cause
their work seems to last forever)
