Hi Mary your burmese is beatiful ! look like real.
I'a Rockpainter too and i like the snake....may i send you a little
trick to paint the skin , to do the little square!! try to use a net,
here in Italy is perfect the net that the market use to sell a
potato , onion , garlic...is a little plastic net..

Before you paint the dark color and after when the colro is dry you
put the net on the stone and fix it with adesive.
After take the dominant color ( in burmese pithon is yellow) and
paint on the net ( without water!).

Magic when you remove the net your piton have a nice skin...
