Curtatone, the Mayor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development, and Union Square and East Somerville Main Streets as we continue our series of workshops designed to provide practical support and encouragement to the city’s growing population of small- and mid-sized businesses.

City’s Business Assistance Programs
Wednesday, August 6th, 8:00 am - 9:30 am
SCAT Building, 90 Union Square, Somerville
With David Guzman, Economic Development Specialist of the Mayor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development. Learn about the City of Somerville’s Business Assistance Programs and how can they support your business. We’ll be talking about the storefront improvement program, the small business loan program, the site finder locator, among others.
Navigating Requirements for Licensing and Permitting
Tuesday, August 12, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
SCAT Building, 90 Union Square, Somerville
With Madeleine Masters, Planning Director of the Mayor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development, George Landers, superintendent of Inspectional Services Division, and City Clerk John Long. Learn about the process of permitting and licensing from the perspective of City officials before getting started in business.
Both workshops are open to all Somerville businesses and residents. Cost is $10 per workshop or free for Main Street members.
