OPENAIR CIRCUS THIS WEEKEND
This weekend, families from Somerville and surrounding communities will raise the big top as they transform Somerville's Nunziato Field for the 23rd season of the OPENAIR Circus.
Performances are at 7pm on Friday and Saturday, and 2pm on Saturday and Sunday. All performances are at Nunziato Field, on the intersection of Summer St. and Vinal Ave. near Union Square in Somerville. Suggested donation is $3.
Performances climax 6 weeks of summer classes for children and adults. The theme for this year's show is "British Invasion," meaning the performances will feature music from popular British bands, Gilbert and Sullivan, and Oliver!
"The OPENAIR Circus offers local families a unique and fun experience," said Circus Chairman Peter Jehlen. "Every summer, our volunteer-run program provides circus arts training to over 150 area children and adults. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing these students perform with such self-confidence and pride."
