It's hard to imagine that Somerville Open Studios was already almost
four months ago! And probably even harder to imagine that it's already
time to start thinking about SOS '09. But believe it or not, it is, if
we want to make next year's event run as smoothly and successfully as
possible.
Please join us at on Monday September 8, 2008 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in
Union Square at Taqueria La Mexicana for a kick-off for the
preparation for '09. La Taqueria Mexicana is generously donating
refreshments.
This event will be a great opportunity to meet other artists in your
area, celebrate the hard work of our volunteers for '08, and get
involved if there's anything you would like to see happen in your open
studios.
If you're new to the area, or have never participated in SOS, I
especially hope you'll come and introduce yourself.
Last year, SOS got great press, found new sponsors for the trolleys,
distributed a record number of map-books, and broke even financially,
all thanks to the hard work of scores of volunteers from inside and
outside of the Somerville artist community.
