[somartscouncil] Choro Music Workshop

Announcement from AfroBrazil....

On Sunday August 10th at 12noon, AfroBrazil is organizing an amazing 

workshop on the Elements of Choro music.

This Lecture/Workshop will be presented by guitarist, Tom Rohde and 

members of Choro Democrático.

The session will begin with a lecture about the history, composers, 

instruments and common rhythmic styles of Choro. Participants will 

work on playing Choro with several members of Choro Democrático and 

the session will conclude with a Roda de Choro (jam session) with 

Choro Democrático and workshop participants.

All instrumentalists, percussionists, vocalists and music enthusiasts 

are welcome to attend.

The workshop is only $15, but I will need a RSVP email as soon as you can.

The event will take place at 92 Union Square in Somerville [SCAT 

building] on Sunday, August 10th at 12noon.
