Interpreting East Somerville is a first-of-it's-kind exhibition that
will take one neighborhood as it's subject, and then invite you to
bring your perspective (and your camera!) and interpret what you see
and how you see it. The possibilities are as wide as your eye.

Show the world. Show your world. Deadline to enter is October 20, 2008.
Chosen entries will be exhibited throughout Somerville City Hall as
part of a group show beginning November 6, 2008.

Presented by East Somerville Main Streets (ESMS) , this exciting new
community project formed as an outgrowth of the Colors of the Americas
: East Somerville Art Walk held earlier this summer along Lower Broadway.
Seeking to expand the local arts spectrum and present accessible new
possibilities for local creative expressions, ESMS is dedicated to
fostering cultural and arts opportunities that not only reflect the
vibrant multiethnic working class neighborhood of East Somerville, but
also encourages the collaboration and crossing of lines between East
Somerville and other communities throughout the city.
Special Thanks to Mayor Joe Curtatone and his office for their
generosity in welcoming this exhibition into City Hall, and to
Somerville Arts Council for all of their support.
