Union Square Revisited:  Yesterday into the 21st Century

Sun. Sept. 14th, 2 - 4 pm (Rain date:  Sun. Oct. 5th)

Explore the nooks & crannies of Union Square -- Victorian churches, industrial buildings, & Queen Anne homes.  Learn about its rebirth thru Union Square Main Streets, rezoning, adaptive reuse of buildings, & Green Line Extension.  Led by Ed Gordon, President of Victorian Society in America, New England Chapter.  Refreshments at Bloc 11 after the Tour.  Meet at Independent Restaurant, on Plaza.  Free. 

 

Ghosts of Somerville

Sat. Oct. 18th, 4 pm - dusk.  (Rain date:  Oct. 19th)

Learn Somervillian history in a fun & Halloween-related way!  This delightful play features characters interred in Milk Row Cemetery, including Harriet Thorp, and Osgood & Emiline Dane.  Dress warmly & in costume, if you like.  Hot cider & goodies for all!  Meet at Cemetery, 400 Somerville Ave., next to Market Basket, $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and youths.
