Please join us this Friday, September 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, for a Reception for my solo exhibit "Images of Our World" at The Firehouse Center for the Arts in Newburyport, MA. The exhibit features 45 of my images from Myanmar (Burma), the Tibetan Kingdom of Mustang, Mali, Vietnam, Italy, and a number of other countries. It will run through September 28.
Following the Reception, the Firehouse Fall Preview Extravaganza will take place in their Theater: my reception guests are invited to stay for this event.
The Firehouse Center is an important arts venue in the charming, historic seaport city of Newburyport, just an hour north of Boston. Situated in the center of town at One Market Square, it is a beautifully restored building from the early 1800's. I will also be participating in a 3-photographer show at the Old Schwamb Mill in Arlington, MA, opening in October. The other two photographers are both terrific: Meg Birnbaum and Jamil Simon--both also of Somerville. The Opening Reception with the three photographers will be on Saturday, October 11, from 2:30-4:30pm. The exhibit will run from October 11-November 15.

The Old Schwamb Mill is at 17 Mill Lane, behind 29 Lowell St., right off of Massachusetts Avenue, in Arlington, MA. The Mill is a historic treasure: it is the only workshop left in the world still producing round and oval, hand-crafted, wooden picture frames. And the work is done on lathes and other machinery dating to the 1800's! Come for the photographs; come for a peek at this wonderful old mill and its fascinating antique production processes and equipment.
