[Rock Painting] Re:Non Rock Question

Hi Betty,
The new Plaid Folk Art Fabric paints are fabulous! They come in both brush on and dimensional paints so you can embellish to your hearts content! I've done a penguin tote bag class with them and the students loved them! Usually you set the paint with heat (either dryer or iron) and then they are washable in low temp water. You wouldn't want to iron the dimensional paint because that would flatten it out and defeat the purpose of it. But if you are only using the brush on paint setting with an iron is quick and easy. Because I don't expect my bags to need washing a lot I've decided to just hand wash in cold water and hang up to dry. I haven't used the bags enough to wash yet so I haven't washed them yet but others I've talked to about these paints say they are very good at staying on. Also, the So Soft paints I've heard work very well too. I've also used fabric medium mixed in with regular FA paints and they seem to hold just fine.
You can see my penguin tote on my photo site in my sign off below.
Hope this helps!

Subject: [Rock Painting] Non Rock Question

As most of you know I am painting some tote bags for the ladies at
church.

I am using my regular acrylics with a little sealer mixed in, and they
are turning out pretty good, but stiff.

I want to paint a few articles of clothing, and would like the design
to be softer, and washable.

Pebeo was suggested, but it is quite pricey, and has to be set with
heat.

Any suggestions as to what brand might work or if there is something to
mix with regular acrylic paint that would make is softer, and washable.

Happy Rockin! Betty \0/
