Mystery solved! I suspected the canvas boards too...but you mentioned that you thought u had a similar thing happen to 1 rock too so I wasn't sure. It did sound like a possible adhesion issue. I've heard that 2 different paints with 2 different drying times can cause cracks. but these two brands should dry the same. And they were probaby mixed well together so that really should not be the issue. Another tip is to make sure that the bottles are mixed thoroughly. When paint sits for awhile it separates and gets thick on the bottom and watery on the top.
