arts facility, seeks quality work from area artists for its winter
shop.... We'd like to extend the invitation, below, to Somerville
Artists.

The shop is back this winter at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in
Watertown. It will feature fine arts and crafts from over 40
artists. The shop will be open from November 1 through December 23,
Wednesday through Sunday, from 12 noon to 8 pm on days with theater
performances scheduled, and from 12 noon to 6 pm on days when the
theater is dark. It will offer the thousands of employees at the
Arsenal on the Charles Complex, theater patrons from the Watertown
Children's Theatre and New Rep's Christmas Carol audiences, lunchtime
patrons at Panera and Casa de Pedro, and other shoppers the
opportunity to purchase beautiful, handcrafted artwork.
We invite artisans interested in participating in this opportunity to
submit 5 examples of your work for consideration (many more than 5
pieces will be required for inventory from selected artists). The
selection jury is looking for quality work, consistency, a diversity
of artists working at various price ranges and enchanting artwork
suitable for gifts for women, men and children. There is a $20 fee
for review.
The artists who are selected to participate in the shop will share a
40% commission on their work to benefit the Arsenal Center for the
Arts and be required to staff the shop two 4-hour shifts throughout
the duration of the store or otherwise assist in the set-up, break-
down or various tasks. A sneak-preview artists' reception is in the
planning prior to the November 1st Grand Opening.
